A JOURNEY FROM PAST TO PRESENT: CONTINUOUS RESISTANCE

  1. The Introduction of the Term “Ehtesab” (“Accountability”):

In 1987, at a time when the term “Ehtesab” (“Accountability”)   was not part of common political discourse, the Tehreek-e-Ehtesab was formally launched. In later years, this very term was adopted and appropriated by numerous organizations and institutions across the country.

  1. Organization: Shaheed Bhutto Research & Study Development Plan:

In 1989, the Shaheed Bhutto Research & Study Development Plan was conceptualized. However, due to a lack of interest and commitment from the relevant stakeholders, the project was never implemented.

  1. Demand: Provincial and National Elections on the Same Day:

In 1989, the Election Commission of Pakistan was formally approached—along with other reform proposals—with a written demand that provincial and national elections be held on the same day. Reminder letters were also submitted. This demand was later accepted in practice, and Pakistan now conducts provincial and national elections simultaneously.

  1. Demand: Respectful Placement of Quaid-e-Azam Commemorative Stamps:

In 2000, all relevant authorities of Pakistan Post, including the Quaid-e-Azam Academy, were compelled to ensure that commemorative postage stamps of Quaid-e-Azam be affixed upright on envelopes, as a matter of national respect. This issue received prominent coverage in national newspapers, and Pakistan Post issued immediate instructions with assurances of compliance.

  1. Nationwide Surveys: Political Consciousness and Political Future of the People of Pakistan:

In 2000, the All Pakistan Voters Association conducted two landmark nationwide political surveys titled:

“The People of Pakistan and Political Awareness”

“The People of Pakistan and the Political Future”

Both surveys were prominently published in national newspapers and contributed significantly to public political discourse.

  1. Demand for Explanatory Information on Inscriptions Printed on Pakistani Currency Notes:

In 2005, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan was formally requested to provide explanatory information regarding the inscriptions printed on Pakistani currency notes. The response received to this critical inquiry was inadequate and evasive.

  1. Introduction of the Reformist and Revolutionary Term “Krachistan”:

In 2011, the conceptual, reformist, and revolutionary term “Krachistan” was introduced for the first time. The term was coined by merging Karachi and Pakistan, symbolizing unity, diversity, and national integration.

  1. Introduction and Proposal of the Reformist and Revolutionary Term “Aghrabia”:

In 2011, in ideological opposition to the ruling elite (Ashrafia), the revolutionary term “Aghrabia” was introduced to represent the marginalized and dispossessed majority.

In 2025, formal written correspondence was initiated with the National Language Promotion Department, the Urdu Dictionary Board (Islamabad & Karachi), as well as linguistic institutions in Pakistan and India working for the promotion of the Urdu language, demanding the inclusion of the term “Aghrabia” in official Urdu dictionaries.

The Urdu Dictionary Board provided a written assurance and committed to including “Aghrabia” in its next edition.
Notably, Daily Jang (13 July 2025) and Daily Jasarat (25 August 2025) prominently published articles by Ansar AbdulQahhar on this subject.

It is important to state that despite a lexicon of over 264,000 Urdu words, the reformist and revolutionary term “Aghrabia” is still absent—yet it is now increasingly used as a counter-concept to Ashrafia.

  1. Design and Misuse of Na‘lain-e-Pak (Sacred Sandals):

In 2023, formal letters were addressed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology regarding the design and prevalent misuse of Na‘lain-e-Pak. However, the national leadership displayed a troubling lack of interest in addressing this issue.

  1. Issuance of the “Open Charge Sheet” on Examination Corruption at the University of Karachi:

Complete details have been documented in the preceding sections.

  • On the official website of the United Krachistan Movement, a complete and transparent record of the struggle spanning 1973 to 2025 will be published. This will include comprehensive documentation of political, social, economic, and educational resistance, detailed accounts of meetings with political, business, and industrial figures, and the findings of political and economic surveys conducted on diverse national issues.
  • The website will also feature full details of political and economic press conferences held at the Karachi Press Club and other strategic forums, along with documented accounts of political and economic protests and demonstrations organized at the Karachi Press Club. In addition, published news reports, photographs, analytical articles from leading national newspapers, and a dedicated photo gallery will be made publicly available—ensuring that the history of this long struggle is preserved, exposed, and placed before the nation as undeniable evidence of resistance, awareness, and accountability.
